The office sits on rue Saint-Charles in Old Longueuil, a short walk from the Longueuil–Université-de-Sherbrooke metro station, one stop from downtown Montreal on the yellow line. Fingerprint-Based Background Checks in brief

A fingerprint-based check is the most reliable way to confirm a person’s identity and the only way to obtain the full contents of a criminal record. It is commonly required for citizenship and permanent residency applications, visas for several countries, record suspensions (pardons) and certain jobs, particularly with the federal government.

Plan for a twenty-minute appointment. Your fingerprints are captured electronically, with no ink or paper, and transmitted to the RCMP before you leave. The RCMP then mails your results directly to you, typically within 5 to 25 business days. Bring two valid pieces of government-issued ID, at least one with a photo, plus any form provided by your employer, organization or local police station.

For the complete process, rates and required documents, see our fingerprint-based background checks service page.
